You are the owner and operator of the most amazing, beautiful, and complicated computing device ever invented – your brain.

When you buy a new camera, or a new printer, or a new microwave oven, you most likely take some time to look through the manual and learn about what your new purchase can do, and how to operate it and get the most use out of it.

Yet your brain did not come with an owner’s manual (how many pages long would something like that be, anyway?). So it’s no surprise that people have occasional difficulty controlling how their brain works.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) can be described as studying how each of us builds our own mental and conceptual map of the world that we live in.

NLP means different things to different people, since there is no central governing authority or set of rules regarding its definition and practice.

But basically NLP helps us get out of our own way. We build up an arsenal of often-unconscious ways of reacting to certain situations in our lives, and often those reactions have become
outmoded and unproductive. If we identify and become conscious of those unproductive reactions, we can choose to change them, thereby removing roadblocks to our progress in creating the lives we really want.

Our reality map is unique to each of us; no one else has the exact same reality.
Furthermore, NLP can be used to change the way we interact with our reality, with huge implications for every area of our lives.

NLP draws its inspirations from a number of different areas of psychology and science. It’s sort of an “open-source” system, with a large number of people constantly adding to its growing knowledge base.

In essence, and unlike many strands of mainstream psychology and therapy, NLP is less concerned with “curing” whatever is “wrong” with a person and instead focusing on what makes people effective and on what works well.

You may be familiar with the saying that “insanity is doing the same things over and over and expecting different results.” NLP assumes that every person is already working perfectly, and that what appears to be “wrong” with someone is actually the perfect response to their current map of their world.

Preparing the Ground

It was the result of a lifework on the principles of success and it really does contain everything you need to know about how to get rich.

When I first read the book, I remember putting it down and thinking to myself … ‘now what exactly is this secret he keeps talking about?’. It turns out to be a not uncommon experience. Despite the fact that in every chapter of the book, mention has apparently been made of the ‘money making secret that has made fortunes for more than five hundred exceedingly wealthy men’, many people have reported great difficulty in actually locating the secret.

In a recent movie – The Secret – the underlying scientific thinking is thoroughly explored. Hype, concerning the movie, The Secret, is all over the internet at present; and, there is no question about it, it’s a good movie too! It will do you absolutely no harm to watch it. But – let’s be quite direct here – many people who have also watched The Secret movie still just don’t get-it! The reason, I think, is that the focus of the movie is the business of convincing people that there is a secret and that it can be trusted to work.

Napoleon Hill says that in order to receive the secret, you have to be ready to receive it; and that’s why he doesn’t give it out overtly. Rather, he allows the reader to discover it when he, or she, is ready to receive it – it is more powerful that way, he says. Well if that is the case how come we have written this little book that plainly and openly reveals the secret to anyone who wants to understand it?

It’s a good question – and one I wanted to answer right up front because the approach taken here seems to fly in the face of what Napoleon Hill has said. The simple answer is that in order to succeed
in your purpose of becoming rich and living a truly abundant life, you need to move from the business of study to the much more profitable business of action.

Contained within this little book is the very same information that many millionaires have actually used to generate real wealth - and so have proved it to be absolutely correct. If you are ready to begin your journey toward riches, once you have the necessary understanding, it is time for you to move-on to action. The Special People in This Book

This page is both an acknowledgement of and a dedication to the fifteen people who made this book possible. A quick look at the Table of Contents on the previous page will give you their names. I met all but one of them at a seminar I attended in Atlanta early in 2001. It was presented by John Harricharan, and it featured a number of well-known Internet personalities as well as some people that I confess I hadn't heard of before attending.

A year earlier, I had written a book titled Command More Luck (see excerpt at the end of this eBook), but didn't feel it was "complete" somehow. So I was casting around for ideas to help me round out the project and begin selling it properly.

I don't usually enjoy seminars, and I mostly try to avoid them. I had just read John's book Power Pause, however, and had spent two or three days walking around the house mumbling " I wish I'd said that". Then, I heard he was promoting a seminar in my old home town, Atlanta, and something in me knew I needed to attend this one.

I did attend, and things began changing. On the first day, during one of the breaks between speakers, I turned to Yanik Silver, whose book Instant Internet Profits had been a great help in understanding how to plan website sales flow. After introductions, I totally surprised myself by asking if he would consider contributing a section to my book. I am enormously indebted to Yanik for his gracious agreement. If he had shot me down, this book might have died right there.

Over the next three days, I approached several others about the project, and in every single case was greeted with enthusiasm and acceptance.

So I dedicate this book to my fifteen new and very special friends, with the understanding that this book is really theirs.

And to John and Yanik, I owe you special thanks for your roles in supporting my very first tentative steps in launching this project.

Introduction

Before we begin, let me ask you a simple question: what do Superman, Spiderman, Batman, the X-men, and the Incredible Hulk have in common? See, it’s easy, right? Yes, they all have supernatural powers – special abilities that make them supreme, invincible and indestructible, and which cause them to be recognized as superheroes. They use these special powers to do good things to people and defeat evil entities. But, unfortunately, they are not real. They are only works of man’s creative imagination. They don’t exist in the real world. That’s why, unlike in comic books and movies, when our city is in trouble, there is no superhero to call to save the day. It really seems to be too good to be true, isn’t it?

Now, let us try to add another one in the list; this time, a real person, say you, me, your teacher, my next-door neighbor, or simply anyone who exists in this world. The list would now be like this: Superman, Spiderman, Batman, the X-men, the Incredible Hulk, and you. Again, same question: What could be the common factor among those in the list? Remember, it includes you now. So before answering, you might ask another question first. Is there really something we all possess? Indeed, there is. Even changing the last entry to me, your teacher, my next-door neighbor, or whoever real person you may think of, still there will always be something common between a superhero and a real person like you and me, and that is power.

Ever envied a superhero for having supernatural powers? I think we all have. Just imagine how cool and fascinating it would be to become invisible even for just a minute or two, to fly across mountains and seas, to climb tall buildings and walls, to create fire or ice depending on what the situation needs, or to simply have that special physical strength to be able to do things that normal people can’t do. But are these kinds of power only necessary to make us superior over others? As real people in the real world, we can never possess any of these supernatural physical powers. What we have is the power to mold our personality, to shape our future, to create our destiny, and to determine who and what we are – a power greater than any other supernatural powers, a power that builds reality and not mere imagination, a power which everyone possesses and can make him a hero in his own ways. This is the power of the mind.

Funny how we tend to be so addicted in looking outside ourselves that we have almost totally lost access to our inner being. We are so afraid to look inward because we might not be happy with what we could see. We make our lives so hectic that we eliminate the slightest risk of looking into ourselves. Therefore, we settle on observing things outside of our own. We make comparisons, judgments, and evaluations which only lead us in concluding and, worse, accepting the fact that we are inferior among others.

What we don’t know is that we have the power to reverse what the outside world makes us believe in. If it says that we are wrong, we have the power to make us right. If it says we are losers, we have the power to be winners. If it says we are non-existent, we have the power to make everyone see that we are alive and surviving. And that is how the power of our mind works – making us more supreme, invincible, and indestructible than any other superhero is.

If the world says you can’t, say “I can. Therefore, I will.”

What is Hypnosis?

For those of you concerned that this is a report designed to teach readers how to convince crowds of people to act like chickens or dance to an unheard song just with a carefully placed keyword - relax. While hypnosis is often paraded in that form with large crowds visiting celebrity hypnosis experts to see what wonders they can perform, the majority of hypnosis used is to aid people seeking a solution to a problem they cannot resolve easily with any other method.

What Hypnosis is NOT

Like many things that have become popularized by celebrity, there are a few misconceptions about self hypnosis that are good to clear up at the start. Before we look at what self hypnosis IS, let’s look at what it is NOT

Self hypnosis doesn’t mean you are allowing someone to control your mind with a soundtrack. No one is able to control our minds. What it does do is help us solve our own problems and answer our own questions. Trust your own strength and power and know your mind isn’t going to let just anyone take over!

Hypnosis isn’t sleeping. While you move in and out of a hypnotic state as you fall asleep or wake up, hypnosis is that time between wakefulness and sleeping. That lovely relaxed state that drifts you between conscious and unconscious thought. You may sometimes fall asleep during or after a meditation, but that is because you relax.

Falling asleep during hypnosis often indicates the level of stress you are under - that you are having trouble relaxing on a long term basis, and the hypnosis-induced sleep is simply your body telling you that you are sleep-deprived and need to catch-up on sleep.

Hypnosis doesn’t make the bad things go away. If you’ve been heavily hurt or abused it won’t make the memories go away. What it can do is rearrange your filing system a little. It can put those bad thought patterns and memories in a place where they don’t pop out every time you open your mind’s storage cupboard. Instead it parks it somewhere at the back of the highest shelf and puts the good thinking in the shelves within easy reach.

It’s a little like the way your mother may have put the cookie jar at the top of the fridge when you were a kid - you just couldn’t get to it unless you put a pile of effort into it. The best thing about hypnosis is the cookie jar might have some mouldy old bread in it, but the hypnosis puts some sweet and tasty good feelings within easy reach. You are far more likely to access the good bits before any of that bad stuff comes flooding back.

Hypnosis can’t make you do something you don’t want to. Your mind is far stronger than we give it credit for. We can’t be made to act or believe something we do not want to believe. This is also why some people may find self hypnosis doesn’t have the expected result they were planning on. Before you begin any self hypnosis course, think about whether the new thinking patterns you are working towards are actually what you want to believe and change.

For instance, some people say they want to give up smoking, but because they love the social side of standing with other smokers, or the way it makes them more relaxed in social situations, they don’t really want to let it go. It’s important to find what it is you actually want to adapt, change and replace before you start for maximum effectiveness.

Introduction

It seems like you hear it all the time from nearly every one you know – “I’m SO stressed out!” Pressures abound in this world today. Those pressures cause stress and anxiety, and often we are ill-equipped to deal with those stressors that trigger anxiety and other feelings that can make us sick. Literally, sick.

The statistics are staggering. One in every eight Americans age 18-54 suffers from an anxiety disorder. This totals over 19 million people! Research conducted by the National Institute of Mental Health has shown that anxiety disorders are the number one mental health problem among American women and are second only to alcohol and drug abuse by men.

Women suffer from anxiety and stress almost twice as much as men. Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in America, surpassing even depression in numbers. Anxiety is the most common mental health issue facing adults over 65 years of age. Anxiety disorders cost the U.S. $46.6 billion annually. Anxiety sufferers see an average of five doctors before being successfully diagnosed.

Unfortunately, stress and anxiety go hand in hand. In fact, one of the major symptoms of stress is anxiety. And stress accounts for 80 percent of all illnesses either directly or indirectly.

In fact, stress is more dangerous than we thought. You've probably heard that it can raise your blood pressure, increasing the likelihood of a stroke in the distant future, but recently a health insurance brochure claimed that 90 percent of visits to a primary care physician were stress-related disorders.

Health Psychology magazine reports that chronic stress can interfere with the normal function of the body's immune system. And studies have proven that stressed individuals have an increased vulnerability to catching an illness and are more susceptible to allergic, autoimmune, or cardiovascular diseases.

What Is A Life Purpose?

When you hear the term “life purpose,” you probably envision people who are following a higher calling, like priests, nuns, missionaries, doctors and scientists. In other words, people who are doing important work in the world.

People like this are certainly living a purpose, but you may be surprised to learn that a life purpose doesn’t have to be so magnanimous either. The dictionary defines purpose as:

Introduction

Most of us have an idea about what success means to us, and we have a mental vision of what it will look like when it arrives in our lives. We might finally get the career recognition we’ve been working so hard for, earn a lot of money, find the man or woman of our dreams, start a family, purchase our own home, buy the sports car we’ve wanted since we were a teenager, or reach any number of other personal accomplishments. Is this success? For some of us, it might be. Perhaps you have a different vision of what success means to you.

Regardless of your personal definition of success, you likely have one thing in common with the rest of us: you are still seeking the level of success you want to attain. Maybe you’ve had success in certain areas, but not in others. Your career might be going great, but your relationships are lacking. Or you’ve met the love of your life, but you just can’t seem to earn the amount of money that would make you happy. Or everything else is great but you can’t seem to lose those last 20 pounds and get into better shape.

It’s a maddening position to be in, especially if you don’t understand why it’s happening. You may think you’re doing everything right, but circumstances just won’t bend to your will. You constantly run into obstacles, sabotage your own efforts, berate yourself for your “failures,”- and the struggle continues.

This struggle continues because of one reason, and one reason only: you are focusing your energy and effort in the wrong direction!

In this modern age, we have the misguided notion that success is some elusive quality “out there” that we need to hunt down and capture. We believe that if we say the right things, do the right things, take exactly the right steps, success will fly right into our little butterfly net and we can pin it down on a sheet of cardboard and hang it proudly on our wall.

We can’t capture success, nor can we buy it, stumble across it, or fall into it. We can only create it, from the inside out. And the only way to create it is by changing our thoughts and habits. What do thoughts have to do with anything? Everything! What we expect to see, we see. What we expect to have in our lives, we have. What we focus on the most, expands.

If your life isn’t what you want it to be, your thoughts have not been in alignment with it. This can be a tricky concept to understand, but the most important point to get is that it’s a cumulative process.

Think of a scale. If you place a grain of sand in one of the trays, it probably won’t make much difference to the balance of the scale. But if you add another grain, and another, and another, before long the scale will begin to tilt in that direction. Your thoughts work in much the same way, and if you have enough of one particular type of thought, it will affect your quality of life.

This may sound bad, but it’s actually a good thing! If we can create imbalance and lack with our thoughts and habits, we can also create abundance and success. It’s all within our control.

What if I told you that just by changing your mind-set, you could begin to effortlessly attract the success you desire? What if you could not only attract success, but become successful at a core level?

You can! By following the techniques in this book, you will learn how to transform your thinking processes and develop a true success mind-set. And with the right mind-set, there is no limit to what you can create in your life.

The important thing to remember as you embark upon this journey is that it’s a process. Take your time and enjoy it. Don’t expect perfection – simply relax and have fun with the techniques! Trust me, they will work much better if you have fun with them, rather than getting mired in frustration or placing unrealistic expectations on yourself. Remember that a large part of success is the contentment you feel in each moment. Allow yourself to feel it now, even if everything in your life isn’t the way you wish it were. Introduction

Have you ever heard of the words Body English? I remembered one basketball game when the sports-caster said, "Air Jordan used a little Body English to coax that ball into the hoop, as he released the free throw.” He meant that the player moved his hips sideways, as if using mind control, so that the ball will go through the basket.

The aphorism, "As a man thinketh in his heart so is he," not only embraces the whole of a man's being, but is so comprehensive as to reach out to every condition and circumstance of his life. A man is literally what he thinks, his character being he complete sum of all his thoughts.

As the plant springs from, and could not be without, the seed, so every act of man springs from the hidden seeds of thought, and could not have appeared without them. This applies equally to those acts called "spontaneous" and "unpremeditated" as to those which are deliberately executed.

Act is the blossom of thought, and joy and suffering are its fruit; thus does a man garner in the sweet and bitter fruitage of his own husbandry.

Man is a growth by law, and not a creation by artifice, and cause and effect are as absolute and undeviating in the hidden realm of thought as in the world of visible and material things. A noble and God-like character is not a thing of favor or chance, but is the natural result of continued effort in right thinking, the effect of long-cherished association with God-like thoughts. An ignoble and bestial character, by the same process, is the result of the continued harboring of groveling thoughts.

Man is made or unmade by himself. In the armory of thought he forges the weapons by which he destroys himself. He also fashions the tools with which he builds for himself heavenly mansions of joy and strength and peace. By the right choice and true application of thought, man ascends to the divine perfection. By the abuse and wrong application of thought he descends below the level of the beast. Between these two extremes are all the grades of character, and man is their maker and master.

Of all the beautiful truths pertaining to the soul which have been restored and brought to light in this age, none is more gladdening or fruitful of divine promise and confidence than this--that man is the master of thought, the molder of character, and the maker and shaper of condition, environment, and destiny.

As a being of power, intelligence, and love, and the lord of his own thoughts, man holds key to every situation, and contains within himself that transforming and regenerative agency by which he may make himself what he wills.

Man is always the master, even in his weakest and most abandoned state. But in his weakness and degradation he is foolish master who misgoverns his "household." When he begins to reflect upon his condition and search diligently for the law upon which his being is established, he then becomes the wise master, directing his energies with intelligence and fashioning his thoughts to fruitful issues. Such is the conscious master, and man can only thus become by discovering within himself the laws of thought. This discovery is totally a matter of application, self-analysis and experience.

Only by much searching and mining are gold and diamonds obtained, and man can find every truth connected with his being, if he will dig deep into the mine of his soul. That he is the maker of his character, the molder of his life, and the builder of his destiny, he may unerringly prove, if he will watch, control, and alter his thoughts, tracing their effects upon himself, upon others and upon his life and circumstances, linking cause and effect by patient practice and investigation. And utilizing his every experience, even the most trivial, everyday occurrence, as a means of obtaining that knowledge of himself which is understanding, wisdom, power. In this direction is the law of absolute that "He that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." For only by patience, practice, and ceaseless importunity can a man enter the door of the temple of knowledge.

These factors can fluctuate widely from day to day, so a tip that worked for you yesterday may not be as effective today.

Therefore, be willing to try something new if you’re feeling uninspired by some of the suggestions. If you try a tip and it doesn’t work, try another, or perhaps alter one of the tips to better suit your needs.

Most importantly, remember that “motivation” is simply something that causes the desire to act. While positive motivators are usually more pleasant, don’t be surprised to discover that I’ve included one or two “negative” motivators in this book. What makes them negative or positive, however, is the context in which they are used. Though they may seem negative at first glance, they are for a positive result, so be willing to keep an open mind about them if you think they might work for you.

There are many reasons why we become unmotivated, and I touch on many of them throughout the pages of this book. Your reasons may be in alignment with these, or they may be completely different.

When it comes right down to it, the reasons for your lack of motivation aren’t as important as your decision to take control of it and move forward again. If this book can help you accomplish that, then our time together has been well-spent.

Here’s wishing you all the motivation you desire, and a hefty dose of inspiration for variety.


Tip #1 - Drink a glass of cold water.

Dehydration can result in fatigue and mental fogginess, which sure doesn’t help your motivation. Before doing intensive mental or physical work, try drinking a glass of ice cold water and watch how it refreshes you. Also be sure to keep drinking plenty of water throughout the day. One glass of water won’t be enough for a body that is more than mildly dehydrated.


Tip #2 - Meditate.

Scattered thoughts can make any task seem more confusing or burdensome. Before beginning work on your objective, take 15 minutes to sit quietly and focus on nothing. Keep your mind as blank as possible and attune to the stillness within you. You may have to gently pull back your focus when it begins to wander, but avoid becoming frustrated about it. Simply keep readjusting your focus and stay calm, and you should feel centered and refreshed in just a few minutes.


Tip #3 - Create a worry box.

Nothing is more aggravating than trying to work productively and being nagged to death by worries! Instead of letting your worries take over your mind, create a worry box to keep them in. You can use any kind of box, from an empty shoe box to a decorative wooden or glass box. Write all of your current worries on a sheet of paper (or you can use a fresh sheet for each worry). When you can’t think of any other worries, put the sheet(s) of paper into the box, close it and store it away on a high shelf nearby. If worries begin to nag at you again while you’re trying to stay focused, glance at your worry box and remind yourself that you don’t have to worry about anything right now because you’ve placed your worries in that box. Affirm that you can pick up your worries again later if you really want to.

Lesson 1: The Most Important Rule Of Writing Your Goals Down That You Must Follow If You Want To
Achieve Success.

Most of us already know that it is vitally important to write your goals down. The simple mechanical act of writing makes your goal visible and tangible. That’s no longer just a thought!

Now it’s a commitment. But there is one rule you must follow to succeed that very few know.

It’s not enough to write your goal down… You have to describe it in complete detail! Make it as specific as possible. Compare: “I want to buy a new home” and “I want to live in a new two story gorgeous Victorian style home with 4 spacious bedrooms, luxurious living room with a fireplace and hardwood floors. I will enjoy my large backyard with swimming pool and patio…” “I want to make a lot of money” is not the goal. It’s just a wish. “I want to make $10.000 monthly with my business by July 1st.” Now that’s the goal.

After writing your goal down in complete details don’t forget to make it visible!
  • You can write it on a yellow note and stick it on your computer.
  • Or even better. Print it so it would fit 4x6 picture frame, then frame it and put it on your desktop.
  • You can also print it on your business card and put it in your wallet.
Try to surround yourself with little reminders. This will help you to stay focused on your goal and create a clear mental image of what you want.


Lesson 2: The One Question You Must Answer Before You Take Action.

There is one question you must answer before you start achieving your goal. Failure to answer that question will result in lack of motivation and failure to follow the plan. Take a piece of paper and answer this question in writing:

WHY do you want to achieve your goal?

No, not just because “I want”. There are reasons behind your dreams, usually dozens of them. And if you realize why you want to reach your goal, you’ll be most likely to follow your plan till the end.

For example, why would you want to lose 15 pounds in 2 months?
  • To look good
  • To feel good about yourself
  • To fit in your favorite dress
  • To impress your spouse …
List every single reason. Try to imagine all the benefits. The truth is the longer the list, the stronger your motivation will be.

Read your reasons first thing in the morning. Even better, frame them and hang them on the wall. It will keep you focused and motivated.

Rule #1: Set Up Your Mind

You are what you want to be. Just like you are what you eat, it also follows that you are what you think. If you set your mind to work for somebody as an employee, you will look for a job and you will be satisfied working as an employee. However, if you set your mind properly to attain financial freedom, you will find means of getting wealthy without the pressures and hassles of working for someone else.

It seems that the mindset of many people is almost always pre-occupied with working as an employee that they forget or unintentionally ignore to cross the line, to see how they can create real wealth. Just like a coin, they never bothered to look and to find out how it feels to be on the other side of it.

I’m not saying that employers are bad. They provide jobs
and it’s good. I’m just painting a picture of one of life’s realities which we hardly notice at times. If you go to business, you eventually end up as an employer yourself. I’m just opening the financial area of your mind.
Consider this: Palms facing up is receiving, kind of similar to begging. Palms facing down is giving. Employees receive. Employers give. How do you want your palms’ position to be?


Rule #2: Think And Act Rich

Always keep in mind that you can attract as much money as you desire by knowing that it is all in the mind. It is what you choose to think, and act upon, that produces the money you want. What you think will be, will be.

Technique #1: Feel Rich and Be Grateful

What I am about to teach you is a simple yet very powerful way of attracting wealth and prosperity in your life.

First, imagine what life would be like if you are rich. Don’t just see it. Feel it as if you’re already experiencing the luxuries and lifestyle of the rich.

Do you see yourself driving your dream car? What model and color is it? Touch the seat and feel its soft texture. Open the car radio and listen to your favorite music. Experience the joy of driving it towards your favorite place.

Maybe you could visualize a house. How many rooms does it have? Take a relaxing soak in the bath tub. Smell the food aroma coming out from the large kitchen. Play sports in your own private gym.

The important thing here is to believe that you are already rich. Now doesn’t that feel good? By doing this exercise, you are unleashing the powers of your subconscious and directing it to give you what you’re dreaming of.

But it doesn’t end there. To make this even more effective, breathe slowly while still hanging on to this wonderful feeling of being rich, and say a small thanks to God, or to a Higher Power.

By being grateful, you are commanding the Powers of the Universe to work in your favor. You are confirming that you are graciously accepting your blessings. Try it out. Believe and feel that you are already wealthy, and be thankful for it. You will be astounded by the results.

Technique #2: Be Generous

Many people think that rich people are selfish, that’s why they have lots of money at hand. This may be true in some cases; however, there are a lot more individuals who are wealthy because they know how to give.

"If you want to succeed you have to apply five laws of success." "If you apply 5 laws of success you will succeed." Even if you don't want to.

You can apply them in ALL aspects of your life. It doesn't matter if you want to earn $10,000 a day, lose 500 pounds or win Olympic gold. You will succeed in EVERYTHING you want if you are applying laws of success.

So, are you ready to be successful? Let's start then!


1. The Law of Desire

"If you want something badly enough you will get it." That's right. If you really WANT something you will get it. Desire is a force that cannot be easily stopped. Think about your goal. - How bad do you want it? - Are you willing to sacrifice? - Under what conditions will you give up? If you want something badly enough, then quitting is simply not an option. You either find a way or make one. You pay the price, whatever it takes.

Your desire is the fire that heats you up to perform, to excel. You know that a small fire cannot heat much; so it is necessary to have a large and intense fire to heat more. That intense fire is your passion – your burning desire to excel in anything.

If you are not sure if your desire is strong enough there is a simple way to intensify it:

Take a piece if paper and write down all the reasons WHY do you want to achieve your goal. List all the benefits you can imagine. The more reasons you'll find, the stronger your desire will get. It is a good practice to read your list of benefits every morning. So you will stay connected with your goal during the day, you'll be more motivated and inspired.

"Desire overcomes obstacles to success. Desire makes molehills out of mountains. No matter what stands in the way, it is moveable."


2. The Law of Belief

"Anything you believe to be true will be your reality." If you don't believe that you can achieve your goal, you won't. In order to achieve anything, you must believe it is possible at a cellular level. Our subconscious mind doesn't know the difference between dreams and reality. Whatever picture you will consistently think about will drive your actions to create that exact picture.

Stress is the effect of emotional and physical pressures on your mental and physical well being. People experience stress differently.

Have you noticed how much the world has changed in the past 150 years? Humans used to travel from one place to another on their feet. There were no cars, motorcycles, buses, no - nothing! We were still using the same method, used for thousands of years before, carrying water from rivers in buckets and pails. In fact, people relied completely on the strength of their limbs and some animals to do most of the work.

In recent years, the rate of change has become almost shocking. A middle-aged person, now living, would have seen all kinds of amazing technological advances within their lifetime; including telegram, car, black and white television, stereo system, ipod etc – and is probably now able to watch everything that’s going on in the world on a plasma television from the comfort of their home.

We don’t like change – and, in fact, humans tend to find change to be most stressful. In this fast changing world, it is perfectly alright to admit to being stressed. There are many different methods to overcome stress and different people handle it differently.

What works for you may not work for others. Understanding stress and knowing how to control or even eliminate it is the key to freedom in
your life.

Why is it that some people can handle stress so effectively no matter what comes their way while some others throw themselves into the sea of depression just because of a tiny thing such as a little change in their routine or because of their assumption of what other people may think of them.

Can it be like some people find pasta is an excellent food while others feel yucky about it? I believe that you have heard of the expression "the straw that broke the camel’s back". Many people don’t know much about that; probably because they have never
owned a camel (lol).

Well, every camel has a limit as to the weight which it can carry. If a camel has carried the maximum weight, an extra tiny weight of a feather can break its back … literally.

Value's Types

There are four types or categories of value. The understanding of each of these value's types will makes us easier to increase consciousness, self-control, and belief restructuring. Value is absolutely difficult to be changed. But, it can be changed if we know how.



1. Mean Value

Many people will mention money, love, success relationship and carrier as value. But, those things don't contain emotion state. Those things are just tools to experience some certain emotion state. Tools that we use to be able to produce certain emotion state are called mean value.

Many people were working and keep working to collect money as much as they can, but they never can be happy. Why? Because what they're looking for was just mean value. They didn't realize that what they want was end value, a certain emotion state which they want to experience or avoid. This ignorance makes many people get empty and not meaningful life.



2. End Value

End value is emotion that we want to experience or avoid. When someone said that having money is the important value, that's true. But, what is the final reason by having money? Are we just want to have stacks of paper which there's a picture of died person. Of course not.

If we ask more deeply, "What's the importance of having money (or other value)?", they'll answer: "safety", "freedom", or "dominance". This is what I called end value.

Same with relationship. Actually, we don't really want relationship. Relationship is just a tool to get related feeling, love feeling, or not lonely feeling - all of this is called end value.



3. Moving Toward Value

Moving toward value (MTV) is emotion state or situation which we want to experience. MTV appears in the following statement:
  • I like adventure.
  • I want excitement and happiness in my relationship.
  • I enjoyed working with people and learning new things in my carrier.



4. Moving Away Value

Moving away value (MAV) is value which we didn't want to experience in our life. This is emotion state or condition that we will avoid by any way. MAV appears in the following statement:
  • I hate a fussy boss.
  • I don't want to be poor.
  • I won't act like my mom.



End Value vs Mean Value

How do we know and distinguish between end value and mean value? Very easy. Use the following questions:
  1. What's the most important for you about ......(e.g: car, house, job, family)?
  2. Why.........is important for you?
For example, one of our friend wants to buy "Rolex" watch. We've known that watch was mean value. If it just aims to know the time, he doesn't need to buy a watch as expensive as Rolex. Other brand also can, or even it's enough just by seeing clock in our cell phone.

So, to find end value, we ask:

Ask: What's the importance of Rolex watch for you?
Answer: Because this watch can be water-resistant up to 1.000 feet or 300 meters.

Ask: Why "water-resistant up to 1.000 feet 0r 300 meters" was important for you?
Answer: Because it shows that this is a very good quality watch.

Ask: Why "a very good quality watch" was important for you?
Answer: Because stuff quality which someone use shows his self-quality.

Ask: Why "a good self-quality" was important for you?
Answer: Because a good self-quality shows someone's level in social life.

Ask: Why "someone's level in social life" was important for you?
Answer: Because by a good level in social life, we will be valued, respected, and get recognition from people.


Evidently, the matter of Rolex watch wasn't as simple as knowing time.

Rolex watch was mean value which use to get end value such as valued feeling, respected feeling, or recognized feeling.

At the next post, I will draw a diagram to explain about the connection between belief and value, and also the connection of mean value and end value.
